Summer Reading

Grade 1 –  Each student received a set of Primary Phonics Readers. These are to be read in conjunction with your copy of Classical Phonics. The accompanying letter can be found HERE, and the lesson plans can be found HERE.

Grades 1-3 – Each student received a 100 Days of Summer Reading Challenge Journal. The suggested book lists can be found HERE, and expectations for participants can be found HERE. Students who complete this journal by the first day of school will be recognized with a certificate at an Opening Assembly in September.

Grades 4-7 – Story of the World books were sent home. Students will return these books to school in the fall. All other required summer reading books need to be purchased or borrowed from the library.

*Story of the World books will be provided by HLS. Please return them to school in the fall. Students should be prepared for a class book discussion and simple quiz over the assigned reading during the first week of school.
